You Are Stronger Than Anyone Knows
You learned a long time ago that when you walk into a room, you needed to look around and see if it was safe - safe for you to be you or if you needed to blend in to survive. You’ve spent your life trying to be brave, in the face of uncertainty through life’s ups and downs. Your empathy and sense of creativity are strengths that have served you well. But, you’ve always felt different from those around you, even as a child. You may have even tried to explore these feelings, but were either shot down by family members or experienced societal pressure to conform to your sex or gender roles. Over time, you became resilient from having to only rely on yourself.
It’s Time To Stop Hiding How You Feel
For years you have hidden your true identity, or at least parts of yourself that are ‘unacceptable.’ But this has led to feelings of anger, outrage, and/or anxiety and depression. Deep down you are plagued with shame, and loneliness because you’ve been carrying the burden of the secret alone. It doesn’t even feel like your life sometimes, but someone else's' that you are acting out. You are tired of feeling like an imposter sometimes, for fear of being outcast or worst, disowned by loved ones. Hasn't your quiet suffering reached a breaking point?
Heal In A Place That Accepts You and Helps You
As an ethnic minority female living in a world where discrimination and microaggressions continue to be a part of our lived experiences, I know far too well what it means to make your own rules and value systems. Over the years, I’ve not only developed an expertise in working with LGBTQ folk, but also developed a strength-based approach that helps clients flourish. We will work conjunctively to identify areas of your life that make you feel stuck or are ultimately, hurting you instead of fulfilling your emotional needs. I will guide you through the unique and complex process of coming out to loved ones and friends and the impact your sex and/or gender roles have on identity development. A main aspect of this process is utilizing your character strengths to build trusting & supportive relationships, minimizing the negatives in your life. Together, we will help you build a community of LGBTQ folk, so that you no longer feel alone.
Enduring life’s ups and downs, or even traumatic events, has led to resilience within yourself, that others do not easily possess. But you are done living a lie, because of what others expect you to be. You want to start living by your own set of values and boundaries, not what tradition demands, I’ve helped many queer, gay and trans folk go from a life of just surviving or tolerating their time on earth, to embracing all that it has to offer. I can help to identify your emotional and relational needs in order to get you one step closer to your desired life. I also have specialities in the area of depression, anxiety, trauma or PTSD and racial/ethnic minorities of POC. Call 626-594-5353 or click the button below to get started.
